2018.05.18 Food on the table

I think we are adjusting to the Spanish time table regarding food pretty good. In Spain lunch is the main meal of the day. It is served between 2 and 4 pm. In most restaurants and cafes you can have a menú del día for 10€ over here.
We either go out for a menu or we eat around 2 at home.

The menú del día is at least 3 courses. At home we stick to 2. This can be vegetables and potatoes. Or vegetables and some chicken or fish. And a desert to top it off.

Dinner time is different though. The Spanish eat la cena around 10 pm. For us that is way too late. I couldn’t sleep if I had eaten a meal at that time. So if we are out we just do drinks and tapas. And if we stay in we eat a healthy salad around 8 pm.

Tom is the cook in the house. I am really spoiled by hardly ever having to prepare a meal. Lucky me. 🙂

Oh, and in case you are wondering about breakfast, el desayuno. I still haven’t figured out when they eat that. I think it could be anywhere between 7 and 12 am. I see some breakfast with cakes and coffee. Churros are popular. Others eat tostadas and beer.

And we stick, like we have done for the last 40 years, to fruit. Which is a treat over here, because there is sooo much choice.

What do you eat for breakfast? Let us know in the commentbox. It would be nice to hear from you.
